To Disperse Some Verse…

Challenge accepted, Robin!

My aim is not to impersonate,
but rather to emulate
a fellow writer’s innate
flair for poems that do fascinate.

My poetry fails to generate,
even if I ruminate,
lines of verse that resonate
in the hearts I aim to motivate.

Still, my pen strives to disseminate
rhyming words that contemplate
the souls of man incarnate
on the path to his eternal fate.

If I attempt to prevaricate
my pen will not participate.
In truth my pen may create
lines that will its truth consolidate.

May this simple sonnet cultivate
man’s impulse to arbitrate
thoughts that tend to generate
a life that will love encapsulate.
