Critters, critters, and more critters

I live on a major through street that is heavily traveled every day. It is right off a major road with that runs through the city of Richardson, Texas. Scores of dog walkers pass my front window daily. Cars rush past my house. High school students pass the house on their way to and from school. So, I am not on a quiet, secluded street away from traffic.

In spite of the high pedestrian and auto traffic, Mother Nature visits my house daily. There is a large raccoon on the front porch as I write this now.

We feed local stray cats regularly and the occasional tourist kitty who has heard about the Mohsene Cat Café shows up for dinner as well. We put out dry and wet cat food morning and evening.

It is not just cats who show up though. The raccoon currently on the porch is scarfing down the leftovers from the food we put out for the stray kitty we named Fluffy. The other cat who comes to eat is named Oreo. They come morning and night looking for food.

Occasionally, one of the possums in the area stops by to see if there are any leftovers. We are not as fond of the possums as we are the other critters who come round. The possum has sharp teeth and I am afraid he might hurt the cats. They are afraid of him.
