Life Is Not Fair
One of life’s lessons
From the book, The Princess Bride:
And that’s when she put her book down. And looked at me. And said it: “Life isn’t fair, Bill. We tell our children that it is, but it’s a terrible thing to do. It’s not only a lie, it’s a cruel lie. Life is not fair, and it never has been, and it’s never going to be.”
The book and the movie teaches us a valuable lesson about life. It is a harsh lesson and one that we must teach our children and remember ourselves.
All the positive thinking in the world won’t change the fact that life isn’t fair.
The prize doesn’t always go to the one who has the most talent, to the smartest one, to the best person. The good people do not come out on top. The kindest person does not always receive kindness in return.
