As a university professor I have sometimes teaching engineering and computer science students, many of my students have been from different cultural backgrounds. I struggle with quite a variety of names and hate when I mispronounce a name. I understand how important names are. And don’t want to embarrass my student or myself. I am sure my last name is difficult for most Americans and robocallers to pronounce since my married last name is Lebanese. A name should be recognized for its importance and respected.
